Rain, Rain and more Rain~

It's rained so much over the last few days I think we could start swimming in parts of our yard. I had started to grow weary of the rain, having wet shoes tracked in and out of the house, keeping up with an umbrella everywhere I go. etc., but the joys of a child bring the beauty of rain to the forefront of my mind every chance she gets every day.

Last night, as she was lying in bed waiting to see if any birds came to eat (she has a birdfeeder hanging on her window) she reminded me of these things about the rain:

1) Mommy, look how beautiful the rain is on my windows and how it fills in all the little holes on my screens.
2) Mommy, I love to look at the rain coming down while I'm laying here...I'm glad God is giving the birds and worms a drink.
3) Mommy, I can't wait until the morning...I want to go outside and look at the raindrops on the caladiums...they are so pretty on the big red leaves...Mommy... will you look at them with me?

Our conversation changed then because her favorite bird, the red cardinal came to eat and she was so happy and then off to dreamland.

Life is so sweet for me!
